Facilities Site Manager
Location: Near Canso, Nova Scotia (on-site presence required)
Maritime Launch Services is a Canadian-owned commercial space company building Spaceport Nova Scotia near the communities of Canso, Hazel Hill and Little Dover in the Municipality of Guysborough, Nova Scotia. Role Overview
We are looking for a practical, reliable person from the Guysborough County area to help manage the day-to-day running of our spaceport site. This is a hands-on role supporting maintenance of the site, receiving deliveries, helping welcome visiting teams, and ensuring everything is ready when operations take place.
The right person will enjoy solving problems, working outdoors, and taking pride in keeping the site running smoothly. Over time, this individual will become the go-to person who knows the site inside and out.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of building Canada’s first orbital launch site while working right here in the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Maintenance

Oversee day-to-day upkeep of buildings, equipment, and site infrastructure.

Carry out general maintenance tasks and minor repairs across the site.

Coordinate contractors and service providers when specialized work is required.

Monitor utilities, site services, and facility condition
Site Access & Logistics

Manage site access for staff, contractors, and visitors.

Support receiving, handling and storage of equipment, materials, and deliveries arriving at the site.

Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and general site supplies.

Assist with the coordination of shipments and site logistics
Launch Campaign Support

Support preparation of the site for launch campaigns and operational activities.

Assist visiting teams, partners, and customers during site visits or launch campaigns.

Identify maintenance issues and ensure they are addressed promptly.

Work closely with operations teams to keep the site safe, functional, and ready

In partnership with the security and operations team, coordinate and manage guest and visitor access during launch operations to ensure safety and a seamless experience
Visitor & Stakeholder Support

Assist with hosting visitors, partners, and government stakeholders

Support tours, meetings and events held at the spaceport site

Help maintain a professional and welcoming site environment

Represent Maritime Launch in the local community through events and activities, building and maintaining positive relationships with community members and stakeholders
Site Safety & Readiness

Support emergency preparedness and site safety & security procedures

Conduct periodic site safety walk throughs

Prepare weekly status reports on activities, findings and mitigation strategies

Coordinate and interface with local RCMP, Fire and EMS and County EMO, as needed

Support environmental protection procedures and measures
Essential Qualifications
-
Experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, marine operations, equipment maintenance, or similar hands-on work.

Comfortable performing general repairs and maintenance tasks.

Experience coordinating contractors or service providers is an asset.

Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day site needs.

Comfortable working outdoors in a coastal environment.

Valid driver’s licence.

Ability to obtain required security clearances.

Additional Requirements

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required to support launch operations and mission readiness activities.

Willingness to travel to and from the Spaceport Nova Scotia site and other operational locations as required.
