TORONTO, September 16, 2026: Maritime Launch Services (MLS) was honoured to participate in the inaugural Canada Investment Summit, held September 14-15 in Toronto, bringing together Canadian government and industry leaders with global investors to highlight opportunities for major investment and nation-building projects across the country.

Convened by the Government of Canada, the summit was focused on catalyzing significant new capital investment in Canada across strategic sectors including energy, critical minerals, defence and advanced technology.

For Maritime Launch Services, the summit provided an opportunity to showcase Spaceport Nova Scotia as a Canadian infrastructure project moving from development into execution, and as a platform designed to connect Canada to the growing global space economy.

Spaceport Nova Scotia is advancing through several significant milestones that were highlighted at this event:

  • A 10-year facilities agreement with Isar Aerospace under NATO’s STARLIFT initiative, establishing a long-term partnership with a European launch provider.
  • A $200 million, 10-year agreement with the Department of National Defence, supporting Canada’s sovereign launch capability.
  • Three completed suborbital launches from the site, with NATO allies and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen among those in attendance.
  • Construction of core site infrastructure underway, alongside continued regulatory and licensing activities.

The project has also attracted investment and support from leading Canadian institutions, including Export Development Canada, MDA Space, and has received support from federal, provincial and municipal governments.

Nova Scotia’s role as a destination for global investment is further demonstrated by Isar Aerospace’s decision to select the province following an evaluation of potential sites across Europe and North America.

“The message coming out of the Canada Investment Summit was clear: Canada is ready to move on major projects that strengthen our economy, our security and our sovereignty. Space was very much part of that conversation, and there is real interest in Spaceport Nova Scotia and the opportunity for Canada to establish sovereign launch capability here at home. We are grateful for the support of Premier Houston and the Province of Nova Scotia, and to the Canada Investment Summit for highlighting Spaceport Nova Scotia in its investment prospectus and giving us the opportunity to showcase what we are building to investors from around the world.”

As Canada looks to attract investment in strategic infrastructure and advanced technologies, Maritime Launch Services is focused on turning that opportunity into action, building the infrastructure required to bring launch capability to Canada.
