Job Description
Halifax, NS (Hybrid)
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our enterprise security program, overseeing physical security, cybersecurity, risk management, security clearances, and emerging technology governance. This is a unique opportunity to shape the security framework of a growing organization operating at the forefront of Canada's space industry.
The Director of Security serves as the subject matter expert for physical security, cybersecurity, risk management, security clearances, data governance, AI governance, regulatory compliance, and incident response. The position works closely with government agencies, regulatory authorities, launch customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain a secure, resilient, and compliant operating environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and lead the company's enterprise-wide security strategy.
- Oversee physical security, cybersecurity, and risk management programs.
- Ensure the protection of personnel, critical infrastructure, information systems, and corporate assets.
- Lead incident response, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Partner with government agencies, customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain a secure and resilient operating environment.
- Build a strong culture of security awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
What You’ll Bring
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing enterprise security programs.
- Proven ability to manage secure environments with controlled access.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Canadian Security Clearance.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast growing organization where priorities may evolve quickly.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
PREFERRED
- Experience in aerospace, defence, aviation, marine, space, or other highly regulated industries.
- Background in both physical security and cybersecurity.
- Experience with compliance programs, risk management, and security clearances.
